Bound by Fear

When someone is bound by fear, the joy of living is gone. There is no peace of mind. Fear always expects bad things to happen. Fear leads to bondage that impacts the emotions, mind, and even physical health. Fear can do strange things to the body, and none of them are good.

When a person is bound by fear, he may conclude that there is no way out. The truth is the opposite. Love conquers fear every time. That's the love of God. Love and fear cannot live in the same place. When love comes, fear is dismissed. Love overcomes fear like light overcomes darkness. When the light of God's love is turned on in your life, fear has no chance to stay.

When bound by fear, call upon the Lord. God's love breaks the chains of fear. The power of God is love, and love unlimited. Love comes into your life through the Spirit of God. "For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5, NLT).

God the Father pours out his love for us through the Holy Spirit, by faith in Jesus Christ. The primary reason God does this is simply because "God is love" (1 John 4:8). God's love in Christ is boundless, breaking fear's bondage every time. There is hope for all who are bound by fear. That hope is God's love. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7, NLT).
