Faith is the bond of a relationship with God. The only way you can come to God is by faith. The eyes of man cannot see God, because He is Spirit. God is like the air you breathe, unseen but real. Therefore, only the eyes of faith can see God.
Faith is confidence in God. It is confident of the promises of God in the Bible. Faith is confident of the grace, mercy, and love of God. Faith brings confidence that God is with us all the time and everywhere. It is confident that when we talk to God, he hears us. Without faith there can be no confidence in God.
Faith is trusting God in the good times and the bad. Faith will trust God when we understand, and when we don't. Faith will never give up on God, no matter what comes our way. Faith knows that God is trustworthy all the time, without exception.
Someone may ask, "Where can I find such faith in God?" It can only be found in your heart. Faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit working in your heart. It's a gift offered graciously and freely through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of faith that is steadfast and true. When Jesus comes into your heart, he always comes with faith. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2).
