God Heals Broken Hearts

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Psalm 147:3

The driveway had a fault line, a broken place across the width of the concrete. It's to be expected. Time and pressure takes its toll. So it is in life. Time and pressure takes a toll on our hearts. Of course, we can hide a broken heart with a smile. Nevertheless, our wounds are still there. God knows. Who can get through this life without a broken heart? Maybe no one, and many experience the broken heart again and again.

God is in the business of healing the broken heart. You may not really see your desperate need for Him until your heart is broken. Like the child who cries for his mother, he needs to be held in her love. She can make it better, because he knows that she cares. May you never have a broken heart, but if you do, please know that God cares. Open your heart to God to heal you.

God still heals the broken heart. Through it all, praise God in song. Praise prepares you for God's healing. In the darkest night of the soul, there has to be a song to get you through it all. Let it be the Lord's song. The Spirit of God responds to our songs of praise.

Humble yourself before God. Oh how much easier it is to be humble, when our hearts are broken. "The LORD lifts up the humble" (Psalm 147:6). Like a mother's arms lifting up the crying child, the LORD lifts up His children. God will do even more. He will heal your broken heart.
