God's Work in You

"For it is God who works in you,
both to will and do of His good pleasure."

Philippians 2:13

When you understand that salvation itself is the work of God's Spirit in your heart, then you understand that He receives all the glory for saving you. It's always by grace through faith to the praise of His glory. Grace is God's unmerited favor that works in you. Through the Holy Spirit, God enables your faith in Jesus Christ.

God works in your heart. That means your mind, will, and emotions. God gives you a mind to understand His word of truth, the gospel of Christ. He gives you a will to desire Him and to do His will. God gives you emotions moved by His love.

After you begin a faith relationship with God, He continues to work in you to glorify Himself. Your good works originate in the goodness of God. He uses you to glorify His name. These are works that others may see. Give God all the glory for what He does through you.

How does God work in and through your life? God gives you desires and abilities to glorify Him by serving others. When God prompts you to serve in any way, follow His guidance. Do all the good things that He puts in your heart. It will bring joy and fulfillment. Know that God is working through you. Remember to give Him all the glory.
