Call Upon the Lord

God sends an invitation to you to call upon Him. He promises to respond. The promise is not for only a few. It's for all. He invites anyone to call upon Him. That includes you.

An atheist announced to the group that he could prove there is no God. So, he said, "I will pray to any deity listening. God, if you are there, I ask you to kill me, and I ask you to kill me now." Nothing happened. The atheist said, "See, I just proved that there is no God." A man in the group said, "You didn't prove there is no God. You proved that God is patient and merciful, otherwise you would be dead now."

Faith calls upon God as Lord. The word Lord speaks of God's rule over all. It also speaks of God as the one who makes covenant with man. His covenant was proven forever through Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord is the God of deliverance who saves. Those who call upon Him are delivered from the condemnation and power of sin. They are delivered from evil and the evil one. God forces His deliverance on no one. He offers His deliverance to all. He listens and responds when you call upon Him. Call upon the Lord.

"Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."

Romans 10:13, NLT
