God made you for pleasure. That's right. God made you for His pleasure that He may get glory to Himself through you. When you are satisfied in God's love, grace, and goodness, your life brings glory to God. That's the pleasure of knowing God by faith in Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, all of us have been seduced in believing there is pleasure in sin. After we taste the brief pleasures of sin for a season, then comes guilt, shame, and bondage. Sin gives a diminishing return. Then we seek pleasure in more sin, but the results bring disappointment and misery.
The fullness of God's pleasures are for you in Christ. He is at the Father's right hand as your high priest, intercessor, mediator, and advocate. He not only died for you, but He is risen from the dead to live for you forever. You have access to all the pleasures of God through Jesus Christ.
The pleasures of God satisfy forever. The pleasures of God in Christ sets us free from the counterfeit pleasures of sin. We are set free from guilt, shame, and bondage. God's pleasures are experienced through the Holy Spirit working in you through faith in Christ.
"You will show me the path of life;
in Your presence is fullness of joy;
