In Times of Trouble

In times of trouble often so-called friends will forsake you. Others may turn away from you. Yet, God will be faithful to you in times of trouble. He is like a shelter in whom you can find a safe place.

You, like all the rest of us, are not exempt from times of trouble. Even now you may be facing trouble. It is a time to trust in God. Commit your life to him. Ask him for help. He will not abandon you.

Look at the wonderful promises in the Bible. Those promises are for you as a believer. If you really trust someone, you take the person for his word. So it is with God. If you really trust him, you believe his word of promise.

You would surely look for shelter in a storm. You know that the storm is temporary. The shelter provides the safety you need. The storms in your life can drive you to God. It is then you will discover the truth of his word and his faithfulness to all who trust in him.

"The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, have never abandoned anyone who searches for you" (Psalm 9:9-10, NLT).
